Document class activity / magnetic poetry kit

In class, teacher told us to design different type of pencil using the description words given.
There are words like creative, greedy, hardworking, passionate , sad and brave.
Each pair were given different things.
Me and Yashini was pair to discuss of how to draw out the different kind of pencils.
At first, we struggled abit because of the description words could hardly fit in the way we drew our pencil.
And also, i realised that hardworking and passionate is almost the same meaning too.
Me and Yashini decided to think deeply of how to design the pencil and describe it.
During the 20mins in a group, we managed to draw out all types of pencils.
Teacher called us to present our drawing and describe why we draw this way.
She gave us homework by research if the things we design really do exist.
I found out that actually there are quite many of them exist especially the flexibilty + pencil.

Magnetic poetry kit

At home, I have went to this website to join words together to form a story.
I only managed to join some of the sentence.
I have play the love and original magnetic poetry.
I have tried to play the nature magnetic poetry but i could hardly form any sentences.
Nature magnetic poetry is quite hard for me although it is an easy job to form any sentences.

Reflection

This lesson make me feel that ideas is generate well through the way we think and how we generate ideas. Many creative things do exist if we go and find out. I did not know the flexibility of the pencil do exist in real life ! I was so surprised too. The magnetic poetry was fun although the sentences i construct has some grammatical mistakes. This game makes me think that it actually suck our brain juice out with the limited words given. Quite challenging if to form a longer sentences.

How and why??????

Today lesson, teacher asked us WHY we ask question ?
Obviously, our mind will think of Clarification. 
However there is other ways that why are we asking questions. 
In deeply, there are many reasons.
However, not everyone in my class able to answer in many ways.
Teacher told us to put our answer inside a website called twiddla.com

At home, i started to list down what i know first.
After that, do research to know more.
Lastly, classify them by using different colour.











Reflection

In deep thought, i found out that there are tips of how to ask a good question instead of anyhow ask without thinking of how to construct the question well. Before knowing this, i actually thought that as long as i ask question that pop out on my mind, it could actually clarify my doubts. But it is not totally true, it actually only clarify only half of the doubts as the way i ask the question might not be the want i think on my mind. It might not be the answer i want to know. I am also the kind of person that would not want to ask question because i afraid of asking. After knowing this, i have a better concept of how to ask a question intelligently without afraid of asking wrong question.

Mind-map / Lateral thinking

Document class activity

Teacher has taught us about how to think out of the box instead inside the box.
She uses different method and quiz to test us out.
One thing i remember was using four lines to cover 9 dots.
We get to use pencil to draw on a piece of paper to try out different ways to cover the 9dots.
It took 10mins for me to solve it.
I never know it could actually work this way by thinking out of the box.
It was interesting and fun because we get to know how our brain works.
It actually works in a simple ways by not thinking deeply.
Another question is "what is the thing that can put inside the wooden box so it can become lighter? "
At this point of time all i think is air . But it is actually HOLE.
I realise that words also can play with it.
During the lesson, we get to think of the solution in a group and solve it.

BEES AND CHICKEN 

Teacher has told us to do two mind-map about " 30 Why bees will go to the painting than the real rose ? "
and " 30 How to prevent neighbour chickens from damaging our fence? "
It is a group work that need us to do finish.
My group has Yashini and Vicoria. 
We start to discuss about the topics during the class and the place we want to go and do our mind-map.
Then, on the day , we had went to Yashini's house to complete our mind-maps in the morning at 9am! 
We managed to complete our work by one day! 
Firstly, we try to think of 30 reasons why bees would prefer going to the painting. 
We think out of the box and google the information about bees.
After 1 hours, we managed to list down 30 reasons! 
Next, we think of 30 solutions of how to prevent chickens from damaging our fence.
Think out of the box again, and list down one by one.
Aftet that, we start to discuss of how to decorate our mind-maps.
Using colour markers, we drew out most of the reasons and solution in two mind-maps.
FINALLY WE ARE DONE !!!! :DDDDDDD


















 Lateral thinking

In the past, people use hands to sweep the floor. Slowly, people designed vacuum cleaner to help us to sweet floor in a faster way. However, there is a more powerful machine , the auto vacuum cleaner which allows to move freely without any help of using our hands. This auto vacuum cleaner was bought by my father recently ago. It function well and very alert. How this really works? This vacuum cleaner will sweep freely untill it bump into a thing, it will turn the direction in another way in order to sweep other part of the house too.

There is actually many different types of this auto vacuum cleaner.
Some of them has insert cameras which able to navigate and thoroughly vacuum without bumping any furniture.

Reflection 
For the class activity, we actually need to think out of the box of different solution.
At first i thought that when i think out of box , ideas is to be unique and supposingly in a logical way. However, it is not this way. Think out of box is to think far beyond our imaginary and think far, think in an unexpected way to solve this problems. For the home assignment, i realised that what we designed , we can actually make the product out. It is wrong to think that some of the product we design is hardly make in real life and function well. We need to believe in ourself. 
NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE

René François Ghislain Magritte  was a Belgian surrealist artist. He became well known for a number of witty and thought-provoking images that fall under the umbrella of surrealism. His work is known for challenging observers' preconditioned perceptions of reality. When he was not untill his 50s, he was finally able to reach some form of fame and recognition for his work.

He painted this in 1928.
  A barrier of fabric prevents the intimate embrace between two lovers, transforming an act of passion into one of isolation and frustration. It is a depiction of the inability to fully unveil the true nature of even our most intimate companions.

He  painted this in 1967. This is an enormous balloon is floating above the body, and the balloon is the head. Inside the balloon is a very small complex of eyes-nose-mouth which seems mysterious yet is not which represents a human being that hides everything that must remain secret.

He painted this in 1946.
It consists of a man in an overcoat and a bowler hat standing in front of a short wall, beyond which is the sea and cloudy sky. The man's face is largely obscured by a hovering green apple. However his eyes can  be seen peeking over the edge of the apple. His left arm appears to bend backwards at the elbow. Everything we see hides another thing, we always want to see what is hidden by what we see. It make us gain the curiousity. This painting can take the form of a intense feeling,between the visible that is hidden and the visible that is present.

It depicts a man standing in front of a mirror. The book on the mantelpiece is reflected correctly but the man can see only the back of his head.

Empire of light 

He painted this in 1950.
Numerous versions of which exist, a dark, nocturmal street scene is set against a pastel-blue. A painting with the combination of day and night. It represent sunlight, the source of clarity, here causes the confusion and unease traditionally associated with darkness. The luminosity of the sky becomes unsettling, making the empty darkness below even more hard to access than it would seem in a normal context.

The Rape
He painted this in 1945. 
The woman facial features are replaced by the torso and pelvis of a naked woman is suggestive firstly of the way males see the woman. This idea is to create a sexual image out of the woman face. This painting is also an reference to his mother death and the way in which she died with her face covered and her body naked. His mother was drowned when he was very young. This painting also have a different idea that actually the neck and head are quite flat. The hair also has an unnatural appearance. Magritte might want to frighten with his paintings, to provoke. It is the rape in progressm the phallus of the face , penetrating the pubic mound. 


10 Ways to make good presentation

Plan the presentation by writing notes cards. Put in some fun facts interactive questions and activities on the cards to share with the class. In addition, write down keywords or main ideas to let us know what are we going to talk to the class. 

Practice.  Work on what and how we going to say. It will feel more confident when we do the real thing so that can eliminate the unnecessary grammar mistakes.

Ask. Ask feedback from family or friends of your preformances. 

Eye contact. It is very important when we presenting. Without eye contact, people will feel bored and would not want to listen to the presentation. 

Research. Research things that we going to share in the class. Get quotes from reliable sources will make a good presentation. Make sure sources are trustworthy.

Smile. Always put on a smile whenever we are presenting. It will influence the audience to continue listen to what are you presenting.

Be confident. If there is lack of confidence, we will be hard to deliver our words well and sometimes will be stuck in the middle of the presentation. Must be confident and try not to be too nervous whenever we are presenting. Always believe in ourselves that we can do it.

Use media ( pictures and video ) . Bring in some pictures or some interesting thing to share with the class so that they will stay focus in what we are presenting. As not all the audience can catch up with the words we say. We can make them be more attentive and catch up in what we are talking.

Conclusion. It is the final expression on the audience. Ending with a question is a good way of getting the audience to think about the presentation in an interesting way. 

Avoid covering up slides. Try to use our own words to speak to the class when we presenting. So that to prevent no eye contact with them continuously.

How does socratic questioning help us be more creative ?

Socratic questioning is disciplined questioning that can be used to pursue thought in many directions and for many purposes which includes, exploring complex ideas, to get the truth of things and to open up issues and problems, to clarify what we know from what we do not know. It help us to analyze a concept. It also help us to be more creative in understanding and assessing the thinking of others. It deeply probe student thinking, to help us being to distinguish what they know from what we do not know. It helps to clarify our thinking, challenging us by questioning . In conclusion, i think that Socratic questioning ensure us to be more systematic in our way of thinking and also help us to think out of the box in another way to be more creative in the way we think.


Reflection: What makes me more creative ? 

Different people have different ways to make them be creative. Personally, i think that there is many ways to make me to be more creative. Actually, i believe when i dream, it will help me to gain in my thinking because my dream is always very creative. Secondly, i believe in exploring around. Whenever i get to see something new around me, it would actually help me to think of a creative idea through the new object.

I did not attend the lesson again last week due to lack of sleep the night before.
I was so disappointed in myself as i could not wake up in the morning to go to the lesson. My friends has tell me what to do for my homework. I feel so troublesome to always make my classmates have difficulties. I really hope i can wake up on time to go to the lesson as well as others too. This make me realise that i should wake up on time to go for the lesson to catch up with my work.
