Creativity and play

What is the relationship between creativity and play ? 

I was asking myself this question.

To me, I think that creativity will come after play.
Whenever we do a thing, or play with a thing, we will realise how amazing or how the thing works.
Things around us are full of creativity. Creativity makes our life fill with interesting thing and work around us.

What is play ?
Play is a spontaneous and active process in which thinking, feeling and doing can flourish; when we play we are freed to be inventive and creative.

What is creativity ?
"Creativity is the act of turning new and imaginative ideas into reality…" -Linda Naiman

In conclusion..
Play can be a very powerful creative tool. Play as used in creativity, is about those activities and ways of being that allows us to be out of mind. That is we are out of the control of mind and in the spontaneity of the moment. We are free to able to step outside the judgments, opinions and biases of the mind to be free to explore the possibilities that are available us. The goal of play in creativity is to lose ourselves in play. If we combined creativity and play together, it will form creative play. Creative play makes us discovered ourselves and the ability of doing one specific thing. It is beyond the boundary of how well we know ourselves. 

This is how creativity and play works together to form a very beautiful latte art. 

We can use recycle materials like plastic bottle to make into useful product and reuse again.

Play with the webcam using different type of camera to form different view from one point.

Bicycle can be use to ride, sale and decorate in the cafe. 

It also use creativity and play in here. It make me realise that anything is possible to make it into another type. It is the matter of how we look from this point. 

Kid playing lego by stacking it up using his imagination.

Shadow, the darkest side of our own. We can play with the shadow by creating different shapes and sizes. 

Reflection
Any things can become creative as long as you know how to used and play it.
Simple thing like blue tack or play doh can also help us gain ideas in a unique ways. It also make me know that in life, we should stop using our phone , observe more and understand more about the thing around us.

1-hour journey

Reflection
During this one hour journey, i have realised there are so many nature things for us to discover and look around. There are so many interesting thing to look as well as to feel it . I had went to the garden which nearer to my house - Admiraty garden in the evening. There were many families bringing kids to the garden to walk and play. The weather is windy and air is refreshing. It has been a long while since i go for a jog alone. The sky is so beautiful that make me pause a while to look at it.
I realised that admiraty garden has surrounded with HDB flats and tress! Birds chirping ; children are playing with one another and there are people gathering, chatting happily.

Reflection

It has been a long holiday for me. First day of school finally arrived. I was very excited and nervous during the first day of school. I was excited as i want to meet my classmates and also looking forward to lessons but nervous as I afraid I could not get well along with them. However, after I had attended the first day of school, i realised that in my class, there are many "weird" and funny classmates. First lesson was also very interesting too. I get to know few classmates and get to interact with them smoothly. I also found out that my class have many people who are talented in art. They are so good in drawing which make me feel that i did not draw as well as them. Hope to learn more from them and hope that we can help one another during lesson.

Story

First lesson, teacher told us to discuss in a group about the interesting thing occur in our lives.

I get to know my groupmates on the first lesson. It was nice knowing them.

We will thinking about interesting things in our life and discussing about how to make up an interesting story. So......................................

• nine family members living in a house  

• I had witnessed a huge group of unlicensed street hawkers in Taiwan being chased by the police 
• I almost ate a lizard because it sneaked into a box of bread that I bought.

Yashini

• can do latte art 

• She like surfing

• She done parasailing.
•  rode an elephant before
•  had experienced a lot of earthquakes.

The final story.........[done by group discussion]

 " One day, Jeraldine along with  8 other family members went to Taiwan and rented a house for a short stay. Along the bustling street of Taiwan were numerous street hawkers selling a plethora of food and souvenirs.

As Jeraldine was feeling hungry, she decided to buy a box of bread. Little did she know that a lizard had sneaked into the box of bread. Next, she bought a cup of latte. The stall assistant Yashini was doing latte art when suddenly loud screams were heard.

The Taiwan police had come and Jeraldine watched all unlicensed hawkers running away while pushing their food carts. Yashini had to take extra care so as not to touch any plants since she was allergic to them.

Afraid that she might be caught by the police, Yashini tried to blend in with the tourists at the nearby beach by surfing. There, she befriended a tourist called Victoria, who had just done parasailing. They were chatting about how Victoria rode an elephant when an earthquake abruptly happened.

Having experienced many earthquakes before, Victoria did not panic and pulled Yashini into safety. In the end, after the earthquake subsided, all the tourists calmed themselves down with a cup of latte by Yashini."
